Furnishings
Avenue Furnishings is an independent soft furnishings business specialising in hand sewn bespoke curtains, blinds, cushions, headboards, pelmets and throws. With a vast array of fabric books to look through Avenue Furnishings can also supply fabric for any of your home furnishing needs. Anything involving fabric is of interest!
We can supply fabric, which is suitable for both soft furnishing and upholstery projects. With great working relationships with other specialist makers, we can complete your interior projects from new curtains and blinds, a new flurry of cushions or reupholstering a tired sofa.
Based in Worcester, I cover all areas in Worcestershire and sometimes further afield.

I have always been passionate about interiors and creating items for my home, which was a much-loved hobby for many years. After deciding it was time for a career change, I left the finance industry and turned my full attention to transforming a pastime into a career. With over 10 years’ experience in curtain making, I specialise in making handsewn, bespoke items for your home.
I get so much enjoyment from meeting new clients and building on ideas to help create the perfect finishing touches for their homes. There is something incredibly special about making something specifically designed just for your client and the enjoyment you see when they can stand back and view their finished room.

We Do
I take pride in creating soft furnishings myself and I also have a lovely team of local and gifted tradespeople who specialise in different areas to offer a complete soft furnishings service.
I always try to be flexible regarding meetings with my clients. We are all busy and want to take time to make the right decisions for our homes. I love the diversity of the projects I get to work on from beautiful country homes, sleek modern projects to children’s fun and vibrant bedrooms!

Our Process
In my Worcester based curtain and blind studio you can browse through my extensive fabric book library for inspiration. There are numerous displays showing the vast array of curtain poles and tracks, trimmings, tiebacks, cushions and throws.
If you already have an idea of what you are looking for you can skip the above step and I can come to your home to offer a free consultation and measuring service. I can bring a selection of fabric books with me for you to peruse.
From the measurements taken I can provide a quotation which is valid for 30 days, which will detail the costs involved and confirm fabric choices you have made.
I specialise in handsewn items and hand finished headings for curtains and blinds. This gives a more opulent finish to your soft furnishings and hides most stitches, giving a more seamless appearance. An option with curtains is to also have these interlined to provide a much fuller look and help keep out any draughts!
However, I also aim to work to your budget and if these options prove to exceed this you can choose to line your curtains and have machined pencil pleat headings for example. This ensures you still get to have your dream fabric and look with a more cost-effective finish.
Once you have reviewed your quotation and finalised any last details an invoice will be created, and a 50% deposit will be payable.
On receipt of your deposit your materials will be ordered. Once your fabric has been received, I will confirm completion dates for your order. The majority of orders placed with your deposit are completed in 4-6 weeks however, this is dictated by the availability of fabric.
Once your bespoke items are ready, they can be collected from the studio or personally delivered to your home on a mutually agreed date.
You will have the option of having your items professionally hung and dressed or if you wish to reduce costs you can collect and hang them yourself.
In some cases existing fittings may be used however, if you require a fitter to install new tracks and poles I can help you find one of the highly recommended fitters I personally use.
